3rd Grade

Mr. Daniel Chiavaroli

Hey Everyone!  I am Mr. C and I teach 3rd grade here at David E. Robinson Elementary.  This is my 14th year teaching, and I've been fortunate to have taught 3rd grade for all 14 years!  My wife and I have 3 Caesar Rodney Riders throughout the district.  Our oldest is a student at the high school, our middle child is here at Robinson, and our youngest just began kindergarten this year 🙂.  Outside of school I enjoy playing hockey (Go Flyers!) and watching football (E-A-G-L-E-S!).  I love music, and recently, I began trying to learn to play guitar.  Just as much as I love teaching, I enjoy learning new things as well!

Mrs. Krystal Ray

Krystal Ray has been with Caesar Rodney School District for six years, and has taught for a total of thirteen years. She has spent her teaching career in first and third grades. In her free time, Mrs. Ray enjoys spending time with her family, reading, fitness, gardening, cheering for the Phillies, and being anywhere near water. Mrs. Ray lives with her husband, two children, and dog, Ace.

Ms. Chelsea Heinsch

Ms. Heinsch began her teaching career with the Caesar Rodney School District in 2016. She has taught 5th Grade, 2nd Grade, and now 3rd Grade in the Spanish Immersion Program. She graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Delaware in 2016 with certifications to teach Elementary Education, Special Education, and Middle School English. In May of 2020, Ms. Heinsch graduated with her Masters in Literacy from the University of Delaware and certified as a Reading Specialist. In her spare time, she enjoys DIY Projects, kickboxing, and watching Pittsburgh Sports (Go Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates!).

Mrs. Joanne Moran

I am Mrs. Moran. This will be my 7th year of teaching. I am proud to say all that time has been spent in the Caesar Rodney School District teaching 3rd Grade. My husband and I have two sons. They both graduated from Polytech but were Riders through elementary and middle school.  In fact, they both attended Star Hill Elementary where I began my career as a Rider. It has been an honor and privilege to work alongside many of the teachers I so admired when my children were students. I also have a stepson and stepdaughter and 4 grandchildren who live in Georgia.  My husband and I are both native Delawareans. My husband is a retired marine and during his active duty, we were stationed in MD, VA, and NC. When he retired in 2007, we returned to Delaware to be close to both of our families.  I enjoy spending time with my family, relaxing at the beach and I love learning! I think that is why I always wanted to be a teacher!

Ms. Melissa Rutherford

This is Ms. Rutherford’s fourth year teaching in the Caesar Rodney School District. Previously, she taught special education in Maryland for three years and special education for one year with the Capital School District. Ms. Rutherford earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education in 2016 from Juniata College. She is originally from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania but has lived in Delaware for the past four years. Currently, Ms. Rutherford is working on earning her Master’s degree in special education. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and watching Philadelphia sports. Ms. Rutherford is excited to continue her teaching career with the Robinson community!
